unPAK at Evolution 2012

We are excited to report that five members of the unPAK team from College of Charleston presented a poster titled “unPAK: Phenotyping single gene knockout mutants in Arabidopsis thaliana” this summer at the 2012 Evolution Meeting in Ottawa.  The poster summarized work which was contributed by researchers from three universities, including 23 of undergraduates!  Additionally, CofC undergraduate unPAK member Hanna Vann was one of the five to attend the conference!

Overall the conference was very productive (lots of great talks – including many on Arabidopsis!!) and it was a great chance to introduce the evolutionary biology community to the unPAK project.

Evolution 2012 attendees (L-R): faculty researchers Dr. Allan Strand and Dr. Matt Rutter, post-doctoral researcher Dr. Yana Wieckowski, faculty researcher Dr. Courtney Murren and CofC undergraduate researcher Hanna Vann.
