WHAT IS A CURE??
CURE stands for Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience. During a CURE, students investigate research questions of interest to the broader scientific community as a part of their general coursework. CURE research questions represent novel problems with unknown answers – and data generated during the CURE is later shared with the research community. So basically, a CURE is not your run-of-the-mill lab project – its real research contributing to the greater collection of scientific knowledge.
